Tammy Zerella LMT  is the sole proprietor of Back to Zen Massage and a Certified Member of the American Bodywork and Massage Professional's. Formerly the owner of Back to Zen Massage located on Long Island. 

 

I studied Occupational Studies /Massage at the New York College of Health Professions. There I took courses not only in massage but also received an extensive education of the human body. Those courses included:

- Anatomy & Physiology: Study of structures of the body
- Kinesiology: Study of mechanics of movement
- Myology: Study of muscles
- Neurology: Study of the nervous system
- Pathology: Study of disease

Upon completion I obtained an Associates Degree in Occupational Studies.
I also met all the requirements to be given the opportunity to sit and take the New York State Exam to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.

In addition to my studies of the human body I also studied:

- Medical Ethics: ethical standards and responsibility
- Bodywork Classes: Medical/Therapeutic Massage, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Infant/Prenatal Massage, Massage for children with special needs. Trigger Point Therapy. 

Prior to my studies of massage I became a certified Reiki Master Teacher in 2006. In this field not only do I provide sessions in the art of Reiki healing energy I have taught others the art of Reiki to aide in healing themselves and others.
